Zoho Marketing Automation vs Brevo: Which Fits Your Business in 2026?

Brevo charges by emails sent; Zoho Marketing Automation charges by marketing contacts. That one difference decides most of the comparison. Here's how to work out which model is cheaper for you, and where each tool is stronger.

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) and Zoho Marketing Automation often land on the same shortlist: both are far cheaper than HubSpot, both handle email, SMS and WhatsApp, and both have visual journey builders. But they are built on different assumptions. Brevo is an email-volume platform that grew into automation and CRM. Zoho Marketing Automation is a lead-nurturing tool designed to sit next to Zoho CRM. Which one is right depends less on features than on how many contacts you hold, how often you email them, and where your sales team lives.

The pricing models are opposites

Brevo bills mainly on emails sent per month, and lets you store a large contact base without paying per contact. Zoho Marketing Automation bills on marketing contacts, with unlimited emails on paid plans and a separate allowance of non-marketing contacts (Zoho lists 1,000,000) that do not count toward your bill.

Indicative list prices gathered from public pricing information at the time of writing; both vendors change plans and price by volume tier and billing cycle. Indian invoices add 18% GST. Verify current pricing on Brevo's and Zoho's official sites before deciding.

A quick rule of thumb: if you have a large list but email it occasionally, Brevo's volume pricing usually wins. If you have a smaller, high-value list of leads you nurture frequently, Zoho's unlimited sends per contact usually win. A B2B firm with 4,000 leads emailed twelve times a month sends close to 50,000 emails — expensive on a volume plan, modest on a contact plan.

Where Brevo is stronger

  • Newsletters and promotional email to big lists, where volume pricing keeps the bill low
  • Transactional email (order confirmations, password resets) from the same account
  • A usable free plan for very small senders
  • Teams that want marketing and a simple CRM in one product and do not use Zoho elsewhere

Where Zoho Marketing Automation is stronger

  • Native, two-way sync with Zoho CRM: leads, scores, journey activity and campaign touchpoints show up on the CRM record sales actually uses
  • Frequent, multi-step B2B nurture where unlimited sends per contact matters
  • Website behaviour tracking and lead scoring tied to deals, so marketing can show pipeline rather than open rates
  • Fits inside Zoho One, which can make it effectively bundled for companies already paying for the suite

How to decide in 30 minutes

  • Count marketing contacts and average monthly sends for the last six months
  • Price both tools at that volume on their official calculators, including WhatsApp and SMS
  • Ask where sales works today. If the answer is Zoho CRM, the integration gap with Brevo will cost more in admin than any licence saving
  • List the three journeys you actually need (welcome, nurture, re-engagement) and check which plan each tool requires for them

In our experience, ecommerce brands and content publishers with large lists and simple flows tend to be happier on Brevo, while B2B and services businesses running Zoho CRM get more from Zoho Marketing Automation because lead scoring and attribution land in the same system as revenue. Neither choice is wrong; mismatching the pricing model to your sending pattern is.

Frequently asked questions

Is Brevo cheaper than Zoho Marketing Automation?

It depends on your ratio of emails to contacts. Brevo charges by emails sent, so it is usually cheaper for large lists emailed infrequently. Zoho charges by marketing contacts with unlimited emails, so it is usually cheaper for smaller lists emailed often. Price both at your real volumes and verify current pricing on each vendor's official site.

Does Brevo integrate with Zoho CRM?

Integration is possible through connectors or middleware such as Zoho Flow or Zapier, but it is not native in the way Zoho Marketing Automation's sync is. Expect to map fields, handle duplicates and maintain the sync yourself.

Can I migrate from Brevo to Zoho Marketing Automation?

Yes. Contacts, lists and consent status can be exported and imported; templates and automations usually need rebuilding. Plan a sender-domain warm-up and re-verify SPF, DKIM and DMARC before sending at volume from the new platform.
